ZavviDirect - scam Internet
site?
On
the 6th June 2008 we sent out a warning message to the people on our Wii
mailing lists. This message warned them about a potential scam Internet
site ZavviDirect. This site was selling Nintendo Wii Fit for the RRP of
£69.99 whilst all other retailers were struggling to get stock.
The text from the email is quoted below...
We've had a lot of emails about Zavvi Direct
and we thought we should just clarify this for everyone - Zavvi Direct
are in no way associated with Zavvi the high street retailer. We cannot
comment on the reliability of this website, but we can tell you that
they are currently being investigated by Zavvi.
Zavvi have posted their own statement about
Zavvi Direct in their news section. You
can read what they have to say about Zavvi Direct here.

The last thing we heard about ZavviDirect was that the real Zavvi had
warned them about copyright infringement and the ZavviDirect website had
been taken offline. As far as we know nobody that ordered Wii Fit from
ZavviDirect has ever received their goods and there are a lot of angry
people out there. If you are one of these people, our advice to you is
to contact your creditcard company and ask them to do a chargeback to
the merchant. If you ordered by debit card you will need to contact your
bank to talk about a refund.
We did not recommend ZavviDirect
For some unknown reason we're getting complaints from people that seem
to think it was our site / mailing list that recommended ZavviDirect.
Just to clarify this, we do not list Zavvi on our Wii
Fit Stock Locator site let alone the fake site ZavviDirect. The only
time we have ever mentioned ZavviDirect was in this warning email.
