WiiMotion Plus is a dongle that attaches to the base of the Wii Remote. The standard Wii Remote was pretty good at tracking its own angle, distance and motion, but wasn't entirely accurate. The Wii Motion Plus dongle will track the Wii Remote's position more accurately in 3-dimensional space.

The lack of accuracy in the standard Wii remote allowed people to cheat at games like bowling and tennis. Pretty much all of the moves required in these games could be simulated whilst sitting in an armchair just flicking your wrist. The new WiiMotion Plus dongle is far more accurate and will track even the slightest movement of a persons hand, this we are promised will provide a true 1:1 response on the screen.

WiiMotion Plus is expected to be bundled with Wii Sports Resort in spring of 2009.
