Wii Fit Plus the Wii Fit replacement
Wii Fit Plus is Nintendo's replacement for Wii Fit. Unlike the follow
up version of normal games, Wii Fit Plus will replace the old Wii Fit
completely. This means that Wii Fit will no longer be sold with the Wii
balance board. From November onwards if you buy a Wii Fit package it will
come bundled with Wii Fit Plus. New Wii balance board owners will have
to head over to eBay to purchase a copy of the old Wii Fit.
Structured Exercise Routines
Wii Fit creator Shigeru Miyamoto said about Wii Fit, that he wanted
people to use the software how they liked and not be locked into preset
routines. This may work with some people, but for the rest of us, if we're
going to get fit we need a set routine to give us something to work towards.
Wii Fit Plus improves on Wii Fit in this respect as there are preset workouts
for upper, middle and lower body. You can also create your own groups
of custom exercise. Goal based exercises are also rumoured to be included
now, so you can choose a routine based on your goals such as weight loss
/ calorie burning or muscle building.
Another new thing that can be found in Wii Fit Plus is a turn based system.
With the old Wii Fit all you could do is sign in as yourself and perform
exercises or balance tasks. If someone wanted to play along with you,
a sign out was required, as each profile tunes the balance board to one
persons weight. Wii Fit Plus solves this issue and it is now possible
to play a turn based game with more than one profile.
Wii Fit Plus Calorie Counter
Calorie counters are a big motivator for a lot of people. They may be
woefully inaccurate but the sight of calories counting up on the screen
can help spur you on when you're flagging. They also make you think about
what you're eating and how long it make take to burn off. It is therefore
very welcome news that Wii Fit Plus will include a calorie counter.
Weigh small kids and your dog with Wii Fit Plus
Yes, it's true! As well as being able to weigh small kids, you can even
weigh your pet with Wii Fit Plus. If you have kids of 3 years and older
you can register them as infants and if you have a pet you want to weigh,
you can register them with Wii Fit Plus too. Although they can't perform
any of the exercises, you can still record their weight by standing on
the balance board yourself with your infant or pet in your arms.
Save a variety of different data
You can save a wide variety of data, with Wii Fit Plus this data is not
limited to the achievements attained in the game. You can now record your
waist size and exercise activities that your have done outside of Wii
Fit. If you have a pedometer, you can even record the number of steps
you take each day.
